Does taking a blood test during the menstrual period interfere with the results?
During the menstrual period, hormone dosages are changed, especially sex hormones, but this does not prevent the tests from being carried out, since the results will be interpreted by a medical provider.
What is the procedure for the female, male, and child check-ups?
We recommend a minimum fasting period of 8 hours and a maximum of 12 hours, only water consumption is allowed. Medicines for hypertension and diabetes are allowed to be taken when taken habitually in the morning. Women who will do Pap smears, sexual abstinence 3 to 4 days before the exam is recommended.
Does tea or coffee interrupt the fast required for blood tests?
Any food or liquid, except for water, when ingested, will interfere with the results of the tests because they modify some biochemical dosages. That’s why not even unsweetened tea should be consumed during fasting.
